Who You Are: Museum of Ice Cream is looking for an eager and ambitious Food Preparation Specialist to join our fun-filled team. You are collaborative, adaptable, and self motivated! The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team. Most importantly, you are creative at heart and have a passion for ice cream and other tasty treats.
Your Day-to-Day:
Follow the prep list created by MOIC leadership to plan duties
Maintain food storage facilities at the highest level such as walk coolers and freezers
Ensure dishwashing equipment and area is always maintained to the highest standards
Responsible for stocking icecream stations in various rooms in the museum
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
Undertake basic cooking duties such as making syrups, cutting garnishes, etc
Maintain the back of house area by keeping clean and orderly kitchen operations and wash, sanitize and disinfect surfaces
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
Perform other kitchen/cafe/bar duties as assigned
Assist in washing and restocking glassware for bar/ cafe items,
Serve ice cream and other treats to guests while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
Perform other duties not listed here that may be assigned by leadership
RequirementsThe Necessities and Nice-to-Haves:
18 years or older
Open availability, including weekends
1+ year of previous preparation/line cook experience in high volume establishments
Food Handler or ServeSafe certification preferred (we provide while on the job)
Ability to improvise under a variety of circ*mstances
Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
Essential Job Functions
Standing and walking on your feet for long periods of time, up to 8 hours
Bend/lift heavy objects of up to 40 pounds
